Planned Parenthood CA Central Coast Rally and Women’s March

Hundreds of people gathered to rally in support of reproductive rights at the De La Guerra Plaza in Santa Barbara.

The rally, organized by Planned Parenthood of California Central Coast and Women’s March Santa Barbara, took place in response to the leaked draft majority vote of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision and 1992 Planned Parenthood v. Casey decision.

The leak was only a draft and federal laws protecting abortion remain in place. The final decision is expected to be made before July. If Roe v. Wade is overturned, there are 26 states expected to move to ban abortion, thirteen of which have “trigger laws” that would immediately ban abortion and constitutional laws protecting safe and legal abortions would essentially cease to exist.
