Drag Queens are currently facing extreme prejudice from lawmakers and individuals nationwide. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, recently signed a bill that will go into effect April 1 which will criminalize certain drag performances. The law bans “adult cabaret entertainment” on public property or at locations in the state where they can be viewed by minors. Other states including Idaho, Kentucky, North Dakota, Montana, Oklahoma and Utah are considering passing similar laws. Vivian describes the misconceptions with Drag and the positive effect it can have on youth.
