West Beach and East Beach at Mission Creek

Remains ClosedChannelkeeper's Penny Owens tells us that West Beach and East Beach at Mission Creek in Santa Barbara County remain closed due to the recent sewage spill. The County lifted the beach closure at Miramar and Fernald Point beaches that were closed due to the 5,000 gallons of sewage spill. Most of the beaches have been issued an "advisory" status because even though this week's water sample is below the single-sample threshold, the 30-day mean exceeds the state standard. The most recent testing results are below the health standard. Go to https://www.theswimguide.org/find/ for a complete list of beach closures.Click the links below to view short clip exclusives from our recent conversation with Santa Barbara Channelkeeper’s Penny Owens.
