Johnson & Johnson - A New Single Dose Vaccine

First dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments, through the Public Health vaccination sites, will become available to eligible Santa Barbara County residents every Monday morning at 9 a.m. Those eligible at this time include emergency services, agriculture and food service, and any remaining Phase 1A health care workers.

3,800 doses of the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine are scheduled to arrive this week. Public Health vaccination sites will feature this new vaccine opportunity in some clinics. This new vaccine will allow Santa Barbara County to continue to see fewer Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations due to more people being vaccinated in a shorter timeframe, says the Santa Barbara Public Health Department.

Beginning Monday at 9 a.m., appointment registration links will be available at https://publichealthsbc.org/vaccine/. Eligible persons may also contact the County Call Center for assistance registering by dialing 2-1-1, and selecting option 4 after choosing language.
