Federal Funding Cuts and STESA's Chocolate De Vine

Now more than ever it is crucial to come out and support our local services for victims services after funding for these services is facing cuts at a federal level. Services that would lose funding include rape crisis centers, domestic violence shelters, and child abuse programs. STESA’s annual gala fundraiser, Chocolate De Vine, is a great way to come out and show your support for these crucial services.

Standing Together To End Sexual Assault (STESA) is one of many programs that would lose funding amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars. The largest federal funding source for these services is The Victims of Crimes Act (VOCA), which has a proposed funding cut of nearly $700 million. Organizations like STESA are now faced with decisions to reduce human and financial resources that would drastically diminish the critical services they provide to our communities.

Come to Chocolate De Vine to show your support, Saturday May 18th from 4:00 to 7:30pm at the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara. Purchase your tickets now at https://www.chocolatedevine.org/tickets. If you are unable  to attend, please consider making a donation!
