COVID-19 Update: August 10, 2022
A Decrease in Cases
Santa Barbara County Health Department reports a 12.6% decrease in cases last week. Due to at home rapid tests, this number is an underestimate of what it would be.
Test positivity is currently at 15.4%, also a decrease from the previous week.
There are currently 50 COVID-19 patients in county hospitals, including for in the ICU and two deaths.
According to the CDC, coronavirus cases are at a medium level. SB County Health Department reported a total of 724 new cases in the week ending Wednesday, August 10th.
Vaccines
Of all eligible residents, 69% have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccines are available and recommended for everyone over 6 months old.
