New Travel Updates
After a federal court ruling, masks have been made optional for travelers at the Santa Barbara Airport, Amtrak, the Metropolitan Transit District, and agencies all over the country. The ruling may not be permanent and masks are still recommended by the CDC.
“CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings at this time.”
The TSA is not longer enforcing the mask mandate and several major airlines including American, United, Southwest, Delta and Alaska have announced that they will no longer require mask wearing while on board, according to the LA Times.
Masks are no longer required aboard Amtrak and Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District buses.
The city will begin to amend outdated signage that enforce mask wearing.
Masks are still required for everyone in healthcare facilities, long-term care facilities, correctional facilities, shelters, and some other institutions.
