Covid-19 Update: April 13, 2022
The Latest
Since last Friday, the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department has reported 107 new COVID-19 cases with 226 cases remaining “active” in the county. On the whole, cases and hospitalizations continue to decline.
In better news, for the first time since May, there were no COVID-19 cases in local ICU’s and only 8 cases were admitted to the hospital for care. This is only the second time since the pandemic started that there have been no cases in Santa Barbara county intensive care units.
County Vaccinations
The vaccine rate in Santa Barbara county has continued to have a steady incline. As of Monday 68% of all county residents have been vaccinated and over 80% have received at least one dose.
Consistent with previous trends, the lowest rate of vaccination remans in the 5 to 11 age group and the highest is held by the 75 and older category.
