COVID-19 Update: October 5th, 2022

According to the Community Data Dashboard on the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department’s website, virus transmission in the Santa Barbara County continues to decrease, continuing a downward trend since late July.

Over the past seven days, the weekly average of reported PCR confirmed cases has decreased by 21%.

In accordance with CDC definitions, COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people, new hospital admissions, and percent of inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients show that community levels remain low. There have been 3 deaths reported over the past week.

COVID-19 related hospitalizations have been decreasing and ICU admissions continue to be low.

Vaccine Update

The CDC now recommends people ages 12 years or older to receive the updated bivalent booster. To schedule your vaccine appointment go to www.vaccines.gov.

The Pfizer Bivalent Booster is recommended to people ages 12 and older, while the Moderna Bivalent Booster is recommended for those ages 18 and older. The Routine Schedule for vaccinations is shown below.
