COVID-19 Update: April 6, 2022

Return to City Hall

Both Santa Barbara and Goleta city councils, city boards, and commissions will return to in-person meetings after a long two years of holding video conferences.

In addition, the Goleta Valley Community Center reopened. Classes started last month. Acting manager Charlie Johnson said seniors have been “kept away from the center due to the pandemic, however, spring is here and with that change it’s time to be optimistic and get back to a normal way of life,” a statement that resonates with many people in the community.

New Covid Regulations in the Community

The guidelines for K-12 students have been updated by the California Department of Public Health, which now allow students who have been exposed to COVID-19 to participate in school and activities as long as they do not have any symptoms. Testing is still recommended for any who have been exposed.

The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department has added resources for those with what is referred to as “long haul” COVID-19. Those who have recurring or new coronavirus symptoms. Noozhawk has published an updated resources page answering frequently asked questions. Read it here: Where to Find Local COVID-19 Testing, Booster Shots, Symptoms of COVID and ‘Long COVID’
